Club Meetings

The Linn Area Photo Club holds monthly meetings on the 2nd Sunday of each month in the Wickiup Hill Outdoor Learning Center at Wickiup Hill Natural Area, 10260 Morris Hills Road, Toddville, Iowa.  Meetings start at 1:30 PM and are open to the public.  If you're interested in joining the club we invite you to attend one of our meetings and see for yourself if our club is for you.

Each meeting typically consists of a short discussion of club business and local current events of interest to members.  A guest speaker or presentation occupies the bulk of the meeting, and we usually conclude the meeting with our monthly Theme Contest.  Winners of the contest get to discuss their photos and answer questions from the audience.  Members are always encouraged to come to meetings with questions they may have about their equipment, techniques, shooting locations, or anything else they think other club members may be able to help with.   Meetings usually run two hours in length, and club members are encouraged to bring their cameras to take advantage of the scenery at Wickiup Hill for shooting after the meeting.

In addition to our monthly meetings we try to organize a photo shoot opportunity periodically for the club members to get together and sharpen their skills.  The Linn Area Photo Club was founded to be a shooting club, so be prepared to have lots of opportunities to use your camera.
